About the Position

The Video Editor will play an integral role in the organization’s brand and help increase online video presence. If you are passionate about editing and delivering videos and are looking to build a portfolio then this would be an ideal opportunity for you. CTPA currently is seeking a video editor to help bring our growing list of internal video projects to life. The position will give you the opportunity to increase your network with various acclaimed speakers, sponsors, advisory board, volunteers, established professionals and thriving entrepreneurs across several industries. Your work will also gain exposure through our various social media channels which currently has 3000+ followers.

Roles and Responsibilities

        • Prepare and edit video footage of varying complexities
        • Integrate overlays, graphics, and music as applicable while ensuring the highest quality editing standards and optimum end-user experience.
        • Perform colour grading and audio mixing on videos.
        • Manage file-based media workflow for location and studio shoots from removable storage media and direct-to-disk capture
        • Maintain and manage files from production to post-production process
        • Work collaboratively with Communications and Marketing directors and colleagues to create and deliver videos which accomplish the desired end result
        • Work closely with a team of directors, videographers, editors and featured interviewees
        • Address feedback and offer constructive input and suggestions

    Skills and Qualifications

          • Practical experience editing a variety of projects including promotional videos, interviews, social media content, event recaps
          • Ability to make sound editing decisions and apply good judgment to create effective end products
          • Proficient with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, or equivalent video editing software
          • Strong project and time management skills within a fast paced, high productivity environment
          • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail is a must.
          • Solid Mac computer skills and knowledge of video post technology, pipelines, and workflows
          • Production knowledge and experience in camera operation, audio recording, and lighting etc. is an asset
          • Flexibility to work 10 hours to 12 per month and deliver finished products within tight deadlines
